The Gender Equality Index differenciates among the member states of the EU and several domains, such as work, money, knowledge, time, power and health. This measurement tool assigns a score from 1 (lowest) to 100 (highest score) and thus provides a measure of how far (or close) each Member State was from achieving gender equality in 2010. While in the whole of the EU Gender Equality was maesured with 54 at a little more than halfway to full Gender Equality, Germany was a little less successful than the average with 51,6. Ahead of the movement remain the Scandinavian countries, as well as Denmark and the Netherlands.
