Memorial to women who have been raped in conflict

While monuments erected to honour and commemorate male soldiers are found worldwide, women, who are systematically raped in conflict, remain largely unrecognized by the public.

Therefore, international Gender/Post-conflict reconstruction specialist Lesley Abdela "will chair a discussion courtesy of the Britih Council at their headquarters in London in November 2014 on the idea of a monument dedicated to the female spirit of survival", project coordinator Tim Symonds of the initiative shevolution announced.
