European Institute for Gender Equality: study on economic gender equality

The European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) published their monthly newsletter compiling the results of a recent study on economic gender equality and the Gender Pay Gap in Europe.

The study gives insight into how gender equality benefits the economy and growth. EIGE’s reports show that increasing women’s participation in the STEM sector and closing the pay gap would generate an extra 6 million jobs by 2050. Furthermore, EIGE investigates the specifics of gender segregation in the tech industry and finance sector and the weight of stereotypes on career choices. The institute also collected examples of good practices aiming at improving work-life balance. Additionally, the European Institute for Gender Equality offers a Gender Statistics Database, a glossary and online library to inform about gender and the economy.
