At the end of October 2010 the UN Resolution 1325 concerning the role of women in armed conflicts will celebrate its 10th anniversary. From October 28th to 30th the Gunda Werner Institute in the Heinrich Böll Foundation in cooperation with the German Women’s Security Council and PeaceWomen Across the Globe will host an international conference which intends to take stock critically, develop perspectives for the further implementation of the UN Resolution 1325, and to politicize new themes such as the problem of militarised masculinity in armed conflicts.
We would like to support this conference e.g. with the blog www.gender-happening.de of the Gunda Werner Institute. Who would like to blog about the topics of this international conference?
We expect:
- Knowledge about the topic peace and security from a gender perspective
- Feel for language and phrasing
- Someone who enjoys writing
You can expect:
- 3 days of interesting discussions and workshops around the UN Resolutions 1325, 1820, ff. as well as focal points such as sexualised violence, militarised masculinity, and antiquated roles of women in conflict management
- 1 blog that can be filled with articles concerning the important topic of peace and conflict research
- Public attention through a high degree of dissemination
- A team of friendly and committed persons who will support you with words and deeds
- Free choice of media – everything is requested:
