On 1st of July 2012 EU Comissioner Pebalgs (Developement) launched a new initiative titeled "Discrimination hampers development" to fight discrimination in developing countries. The €20 million package is to help to fight against andy kind of discrimination - whether based on gender or sexual
orientation, religion or belief, race or ethnic origin, or disability -
which affects millions of people around the world.
