The European Network of Legal Experts in the field of Gender Equality has issued the first 2010 issue of the European Gender Equality Law Review. It highlights legal developments in gender equality law.
In their contributions the legal experts examine legislative initiatives, recent case law and current policies in the 27 EU countries and the three EEA countries (Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway), as well as in the candidate countries of Croatia, Turkey and FYR of Macedonia.
The developments at the European level, including the case law of the Court of Justice and the European Court of Human Rights, and the UN level, the decisions of the CEDAW Committee, are also analysed.
Two academic articles appear in this issue of the Review. One, by Evelyn Ellis, explores the impact of the Lisbon Treaty on gender equality. The second article, by Simonetta Renga, Hélène Masse-Dessen, Sylvaine Laulom and Sophia Koukoulis-Spiliotopoulos, explores the topical issue of old-age pensions rights from a gender perspective, focusing on the French, Italian and Greek old-age pension systems.
