New Report: Transgender people in Europe discriminated

According to a report published by Amnesty International on 4 February 2014, European countries are violating the human rights of people trying to change their legal gender.

The report “The state decides who I am: lack of legal recognition for transgender people in Europe” gives details about how transgender people have to go through procedures violating fundamental human rights in seven European countries.

"Transgender people are forced to undergo invasive surgery, sterilization, hormone therapy, and psychiatric testing before they can change their legal status". The countries in focus are: Denmark, Finland, France, Norway, Belgium, Germany and Ireland.
