Alevtina Kakhidze, Muzychi, is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice encompasses performance, drawing, time-based media and curation. She became known, among other things, for her performance at “Manifesta 10”, which dealt with the conflict in Eastern Ukraine. She founded and runs the residency programme “The Muzychi Expanded History Project“. In 2023, she received “State of the ART(ist) – Honorary Mention” from Ars Electronica and the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with the “Women in Arts Award” by UN Women Ukraine. In 2018, she became the United Nations Tolerance Envoy in Ukraine. In 2002, she won the first prize in the “Competition for Young Curators and Artists” at the Center for Contemporary Art at NaUKMA in Kyiv.
