Caroline Assad (Berlin, Germany) is a researcher and scientific coordinator at the German Centre for Integration and Migration Research (DeZIM). Her current research project examines the diversity of existing funding and cooperation structures in foreign cultural and education policy. She holds an executive master’s degree in Public Administration from the Hertie School and a master’s degree in Educational Sciences from Freie Universität Berlin. After her studies, she worked as a freelance researcher for UNICEF in Oman and Sudan, for Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin, and for the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. From 2018 to 2021 she served as managing director of WIR MACHEN DAS, a civil society organisation working at the intersection of culture, literature, and migration discourse, and now sits on its advisory board.
