Dr Serawit Bekele Debele, Bayreuth, is a researcher at the “Africa Multiple Cluster of Excellence” at the University of Bayreuth, Germany. She is currently working on her research project on Sexualities, Political Orders and Revolutions in Africa with a focus on Ethiopia, Sudan and Tunisia. She is also one of the principal investigators in the project “African Studies in Germany through the lens of Critical Race Theory”. She is the author of Locating Politics in Ethiopia's Irreecha Ritual (2019).
