Mackenzie Nelson manages the public profile of the Heinrich Böll Foundation North America, including the website, newsletter, and PR. She is responsible for communications and outreach and is the first point of contact for media inquiries. Mackenzie also manages office operations, oversees the internship program and application process, and provides support to the Executive Director.
Prior to joining the Böll Foundation's Washington D.C. office, Mackenzie worked as an intern in the Climate and Energy Program at the Heinrich Böll Foundation's office in Brussels. She has also worked at the Namib Desert Environmental Education Trust, a small environmental education NGO located out of Swakopmund, Namibia, and gained research experience with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Office of Strategic Environmental Management. Mackenzie holds a B.A. in International Politics and History from Jacobs University in Bremen, Germany.
