Studied cultural studies and gender studies at the University of Bremen. Marieke studied and worked in the field of gender justice, conflict and sexualized violence and peace education in Germany and South Africa. Currently Marieke is working as a free gender trainer and as a freelancer of the Gunda-Werner-Institute. The most recent work projects focused on militarized masculinities and transitional justice in post-conflict regions.
