Urvashi Butalia
Urvashi Butalia, New Delhi, is a writer, publisher, and professor. In 1984, she founded India's first feminist publishing house “Kali for Women”. In 2003, she founded the publishing house “Zubaan”, which she still runs today. In 2017, she was awarded the Goethe Medal for Human Rights. Her best-known publications include The Persistence of Memory (2015) and The Other Side of Silence: Voices from the Partition of India (1998).
