"You can't be what you can't see"...

Reading time: 1 minute

In a period of four months, all pictures of men and women from 136 newspapers (87 titles, 22 countries) were cut out and compared with each other. Apart from deeply stereotypical representations, that the material showed (only 4 % were indepted to anti-stereotypical views of women and men), men took up twice as much space, than women did. Dr. Kaouthar Darmoni of the University of Amsterdam resumes: "You simply can't be what you can't see."
