Europe's promise of LGBTI-, and sexual reproductive rights (SRRs), is accopmanied by constant threats. As minority populations become more visible and lay claim to equal rights, social disconent seems on the rise and is often incited and exploitet by human rights opponents.
The Open Society Foundations are offering grants for projects analyzing this dynamic and trying to find viable reactions. What strategies could reach passive human rights proponents that are not yet engaged in the fight for LGBTI and SSR issues - the "Movable Middle" ? How can "unusual allies" be made and convinced of human rights issues? And how can the human rights movement and its LGBTI and SSR aspects be strengthened?
