Nicola Popovic
Consultant on Gender, Peace and Security

Nicola Popovic is an independent consultant on Gender, Peace and Security. In the past 7 years she worked for institutions such as the United Nations (UN-INSTRAW, UN Women, UNDP, DPKO), civil society organizations, (International Alert, Cordaid, the Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF), the Global Network of Women Peacebuilders (GNWP), and the Network of Human Rights Educators Associates (HREA)) and academia in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Liberia, Haiti, and Zimbabwe among others. Ms. Popovic holds a B.A. in State Studies from the University of Erfurt (Germany), a Master of Law in International Peace Support Operations from the Irish Centre for Human Rights, National University of Ireland, as well as, postgraduate diploma in Human Development and Peace Education.
