Feminism for the Post-Migrant Society

The European Union's AI Regulation ought to protect people on the run. Instead, it protects those fleeing even less than people who do not have to flee. The regulation grants security authorities exemptions for the use of high-risk technologies.

The European border and asylum regime is becoming increasingly restrictive and violent.  Digital technologies play a central role in this. 

Valerie Hammond came out as a gay man when she was 17 before realizing that she is a trans woman. In sharing her personal experiences of becoming transgender two years ago, she reflects on the continual social discrimination and lack of legal rights the LGBTQIA+ community in Vietnam still face.

The goal of the project is to raise awareness about women's engagement in informal economies. The project will research the types of work such as babysitting, cleaning, tutoring and home nursing.

In Azerbaijan, antagonism and phobia against feminism have been so extensive that adopting a feminist identity and establishing feminist initiatives and organizations were incredibly slow-moving.

“Once I started to write myself, I began to realize how this powerful act of self-expression was the counter opposite of the seclusion, alienation, and repression that mandatory veiling had imposed on me” says Iranian author Ava Homa. In her article, she points out various forms of protest with which women in Iran fight for freedoms and participation – one of them is writing.
